Me voici de retour de vacances. J’ai fait une cure de désintox de poker pendant 10 jours. C’est pas désagréable mais j’avoue que j’ai hâte de refaire quelques parties ;). Pendant cette semaine de farniente en Corse, j’ai donc peaufiné ma technique grâce à quelques magazines sur le sujet. Il en sort régulièrement de nouveaux et j’ai donc voulu tester un des derniers arrivés sur le marché – Poker Expert.
Le prix
Poker Expert coûte 4.95€. C’est dans la moyenne des prix pour un magazine de poker (poker magazine fait 4.90€ et poker pro 5€ à titre d’exemple). En revanche contrairement aux autres Poker Expert est un bimestriel.
Le Look
Mon dieu que c’est moche! La qualité du papier est mauvaise mais on est dans l’esprit « recyclé » – ça plaira aux écolos. La mise en page est tristounette. Les photos qui illustrent les articles sont pas terribles. Les tableaux de probabilités disséminés un peu partout au fil des pages sont clairement des copié/collé de ceux qu’on trouve sur Internet. Le graphiste n’a même pas pris la peine de les refaire et le résultat à l’impression est mauvais: au voit les pixels!
Le contenu
Première remarque pas si anodine, Poker Expert comporte nettement moins de pub sur ses confrères. Je me suis amusé à compter. Poker Magazine (cardplayer) de juillet nous enfume avec 22 pages de pub alors que Poker Expert se content de 7. Mais soyons honnête, remis au nombre total de page, on arrive à un contenu identique ;). Toujours est-il que c’est agréable de pas trop avoir de pub devant le nez.
Comme les autres magazine, Poker Expert ne fait pas l’impasse sur l’interview du Pro. Dans ce numéro 2 c’est Fabrice Soulier de chez ChiliPoker. Pour le reste on retrouve des articles sur la technique et la stratégie. A la différence de card player ils ne sont pas rédigés par de prestigieux auteurs (les joueurs pros!!) et donc peuvent paraitre un peu moins « crédibles ». Mais la vérité, c’est que Poker Expert ose aborder des sujets de façon réellement différente. C’est notamment le cas sur 2 très bons articles que je vous conseille de lire sur la vraie valeur des cotes et les schémas des enchères. C’est instructif et engagé. Poker Expert ne se prend pas trop au sérieux et ça fait du bien.
Gageons que si le magazine marche, ils engageront un graphiste digne de ce nom et amélioreront l’esthétique du magazine. Pour ce qui est du contenu, j’espère qu’il continueront de trouver des angles aussi originaux d’aborder le poker.
