Après ma première expérience de tournoi live, j’ai participé hier soir à mon premier gros tournoi online avec le sunday million de Pokerstars.
Le sunday million a lieu tous les dimanche soir sur Pokerstars. Le buy-in est de 200$+15$. Le prizepool garanti est de 1.500.000$. Hier soir, il y a eu plus de 8000 participants pour un prizepool d’un peu plus de 1.6M$ et 250K$ pour le premier! Autant dire que ça fait rêver. Je me suis qualifié pour le sunday million seulement 1h avant sur un satellite à 36$+3$. Ce satellite fonctionne à la manière d’un sit&go, il y a 6 joueurs à table, le premier repart avec son ticket à 215$ et les autres ont leurs yeux pour pleurer.
Je pourrai consacrer un compte rendu entier à ce satellite tellement c’était sportif 😉
Bref, me voilà donc paré pour le sunday million. 10000 de tapis de départ et des blinds qui augmentent toutes les 15 minutes, une bonne structure donc. Les premières mains se sont avérées rentables. Je suis tombé sur un calling station que j’ai pu rincer un peu avec des mains comme AK. Je suis vite arrivé à un stack de 27000. Bon début. Après ce mini rush, je me suis calmé et j’ai attendu.
1h après le début du tournoi, j’étais encore avec un stack d’environ 25k quand j’ai touché AK. On est 2 dans le coup et à la turn je me retrouve avec une double paire AK. Mon adversaire paye toutes mes relances successives, aussi quand la river donne un 3ème trèfle au tableau, j’envisage qu’il ait touché sa couleur. C’est exactement le cas. J’ai pris une bonne petit claque sur cette main.
Le temps passe et j’enchaine les poubelles… Je commence à avoir l’habitude, je me mets en mode patience. Arrive un 77 honorable. Mais c’est typiquement le genre de main que j’ai encore du mal à gérer. Ça ne rate pas, je me retrouve embarqué dans un sale coup et fini par fold sur un tableau J5K10. 😛 A ce moment du tournoi, je n’ai plus qu’un tapis de 6500. Je suis obligé de passer en mode risque/chatteux. Je suis bouton et j’ai QJs à carreau. J’envoie le tapis et je suis payé par la big blind qui découvre AQ. Je suis déjà levé de ma chaise que le flop me donne un joli valet 
J’ai doublé mon tapis, je respire un peu mais je continue à maintenir la pression. 3 mains plus tard, je suis remonté à 21K$ mais je suis toujours en mode survie. Ça fait 3h qu’on joue, il reste 2300 joueurs.
C’est un des moments les plus délicats du tournoi. A ma table il y a des tapis énormes par rapport au mien qui mettent une grosse pression. Je me retrouve à 14k$ mais je suis zen et prêt à attendre la bonne main pour doubler. Je sais que si j’arrive à 30k$ de tapis, je serai serein pour filer ITM.
Et comme si les dieux du poker avaient voulu me récompenser de ma patience il me donnent KK au bouton -1. Le type UTG fait une petite relance de 2 blinds (qui sont déjà grosses à ce moment). Je sur-relance d’une doublette et il envoie le tapis. Wouhou! Je paye et il abat 2 as 😯 . Pas de miracle et je suis out environ 2000ème. (~1200 placées).
Conclusion
Pour gagner un gros tournoi comme celui là il faut:
- Beaucoup de chance.
- Ne faire pratiquement aucune erreur et si vous en faites, il faut qu’elle n’engage jamais votre tapis.
J’ai quand même beaucoup aimé ce tournoi grâce à sa structure vraiment agréable et aux enjeux considérables qui en font un tournoi excitant.
Je ferai tout pour me requalifier la semaine prochaine… Pensez-vous, 240.000$ ça changerait mes perspectives de 2010 non? 😎
